More Proof YOU KNOW WHO Makes It To The Finale On Next Food Network Star

It’s pretty sad that a spoiler alert isn’t even needed for this, because it’s just that obvious.
By now, everyone and their mother knows the fix is in for Aarti to win this God-awful season of Next Food Network Star (or, at least to stick around the network if she doesn’t). Last month, the Food Network webmasters inadvertently – and brilliantly – included her amongst their chefs on their website. Fail!
Now, some random dude on Facebook went and posted a photo of himself with her at last weekend’s AC Wine and Food Fest – and in the photo caption, wished her success at the show’s FINALE. Double fail!

In a related story, I’d just like to know why Aarti has an “official fan page” on Facebook. Who the eff does she think she is? JULIA ROBERTS? The actual chefs on Food Network don’t even have official fan pages! Come on now. Bloated head much? Why the word “official” in there? Are there really that many corrupt, unofficial Aarti fan pages that she has to distinguish herself from?
On top of having an official fan page on Facebook, she has her own personal page – and yet another page for AARTI PAARTI, or whatever the hell the stupid show is called. The profile pic for the Aarti Paarti page is a terrifying photo of her standing in her kitchen, wrapped in a curtain, with a bunny costume on. Looks like she’s already practicing for her next awful show:

(Thanks for the tip, Julie!)

Man on the boat overboard, she has some bigtime bazongas.
whoop-dee-freaking-doo-doo!
I might too if I weighed that much. She needs to put them away.
Me-ow
FNH is going to give my nightmares…christ…
Aarti Paarti forever? What a lame-o
And why does it look like she is wearing a grandmothers old slip over a sports bra?
That photo in the bunny costume with the capgun is just so scary it’s almost funny. Thanks for the fuckin’ nightmares! =O
Doesn’t it look like the guy in the picture is wearing Brad’s lucky hat?
Is FN hoping she’ll dress like a bunny and make carrot curry? WHO would pick her to compete based on that ridiculous page? FAIL is right!
YEAH! My tip was actually worthy to be on FNH! That is one creepy pic!
They’ve mentioned a few times during NFNS that Aarti is a food blogger. I just did some searching and found an article linking to the “aartipaarti.com” site that was written before the season started. So it looks like this is her food blog that she maintained before ever being on the show, and thus the aarti paarti name has been around for a while.
Also interesting, her husband is the director and cameraman for her internet cooking shows
FN can hire him too then, right? Did you hear Bobby say they may have ‘production problems’ with Aarti being so shy?
It’s a home kitchen youtube cooking video. Having your spouse as the cameraman isn’t too surprising or unusual (such as with ‘crash test kitchen’ or ‘geek food’). But if she’s been building up this aarti paarti branding, I wonder if she’ll end up turning control of the trademark over to food network. If so, they could fire her one day and make her stop using it.
“Bloated head much?”
Well, in that respect she has quite a head start when it comes to fitting in with a majority of the FN “talent”.
I can only hope that her show turns out to be a major-league ratings flop and she disappears quickly.
Her show will NEVER disappear! They cannot cancel these shows, it would invalidate the whole premise of “win your own food network show!” Why do you think Big Daddy is still around?
No, my theory is this is the reason why scripps bought the other cooking channel. They will slowly move all the other cooking shows over to Cooking and will eventually change the name of Food Network to Food Network Star channel! They will hold this competition on a seasonal basis and air the show in the prime time slot, then all other programing will be the winner’s shows.
Don’t tell that to Amy Finley.
What cooking shows? FN has some?!
But, yes, much as I am loathe to say it, you are probably right in that her show will never disappear. Still, I think there are some past winners who don’t have shows currently. But, then again, I’m somewhat late to this particular party. Last season was the first one I ever watched.
And the Hardy Boys.
OMG! Watched ep #33 aartipaarti.com = Huggy Buggy Bread Pudding. Highlights:
1. neon pink plastic flower ring
2. pulling her pants up
3. ‘crispy-doodle on top’ and ‘whiskey-fied figs’ descriptions
4. ukelele serenade of ‘What The Buck’ instead of WTF
5. can’t taste it because she’s GLUTON allergic
Ready to vomit; it’s cutesy lutsey horrible!
Other interesting things I learned about Aarti by perusing the aaartipaarti site:
1. She is a Jesus freak (mentions God a lot on her blog)
2. She doesn’t swear (see #1) and can’t even say the word “crap.” So she says “holy carp” instead.
3. She called Brianna “sweet” and says they are really good friends now (Brianna seemed like a back-stabbing beotch to me, or at least that’s how she was portrayed on the show)
4. She doesn’t have cable TV so she watches NFNS episodes at friends houses
5. Wolfgang Puck said to her “Your lentils are burning, Flower girl” (I don’t remember this comment airing, and I can totatlly picture him saying those words in my mind)
…Wolfgang Puck said to her “Your lentils are burning, Flower girl”
Damn, damn, I wish they’d left that in :)
She had a whole biblical dealio about fear in that last episode, and that also explains her being OK with cooking beef (or at least it emphasizes that she’s not Hindu)
That said, I’m OK with Aarti. Just not Aarti Paarti…
It sounds her show would be better suited on The 700 Club than FN. She made some freaky bible reference during her “fear” dish challenge. The only thing scary was her food looked horrific.
“Your lentils are burning, Flower girl”
Sounds like an STD picked up at an Aarti Paarti.
Just hearing you folks talk about this person makes me so happy that I have never watched the show.
Ditto.
3 weirdos are better than 1, so how about a mashup: AARTI PAARTI LINE WITH THE HAARTI BOYS? Aarti seems like someone gay guys would get along with anyway, like Ina.
I would love to see things to cook with Havarti cheese on one of the episodes with Aarti and the Haarti Boys…
Well she may be in some sort of twisted bunny costume but at least she took that damn flower/bird/ weed out of her hair!
I would totally watch Cooking in the Darko.
Me too. Looks a hell of a lot more interesting than what her show is actually going to be like.
Macabre menus FTW! :)
Um…a spoiler alert would have been needed for me, since I don’t go to Random Dude’s Facebook page and would not have even heard about it if you hadn’t reported it. It would maybe be different if Bobby Flay was on the View and made a faarti joke or something.
I both enjoy the show and enjoy the making fun of the show, so I had been avoiding reading spoilery posts and comments ever since the warning about FN’s oops a few weeks ago. I haven’t gone to the forum at all because I figured people would be more blurty there and I wouldn’t blame them for wanting to talk about it – I just personally didn’t want to be spoiled.
Sorry for being one of Those People that whines about what others do with their website. I just had to vent. Now I will go back to my corner and continue to enjoy this site for its excellent humor.
I agree, I was the exact same way. Even if it’s easily found, it’s too bad the spoiler was revealed in a BIG BOLD HEADLINE on the front page. Not everybody wants to know!
No (okay, some) offense here, but if you couldn’t tell they were setting it up for her to win….well, you’re dumb.
I do understand trying not to have it ruined to a certain degree, so yeah, it kinda does suck if you were actively avoiding it, but others of us want to rip the morons for it. Plus it’s FN’s fault it’s been spoiled repeatedly, not this site’s. At least FN is consistently stupid when it comes to ruining things.
I was scrolling through random guy’s gallery and … aaaahhh!

I love me some Aarti. :)
*Like*
This show has pretty much helped me make my mind up to not watch FN anymore. I’m too intelligent to let this go on any longer. Seeing Weasel Boy and Susie Fogoloff together with Bobby Flay makes me nauseous. I’ll get my culinary programming elsewhere.
I’m really starting to get the story behind her food, she’s telling us about her, her story, about her story behind her food.
Which is so damn important.
It’s curious that someone who is so shy and has self-esteem issues has all these blogs, videos and websites. I don’t think she’s quite the wallflower she makes out to be.
Does appear to be a bit contrived doesn’t it?
After seeing her website, I completely agree with you. She’s a total phony.
Not necessarily. I’m very shy and there was a period of time I was displaying a lot of things I created out there on the internet and even had my own website for awhile. I only put out the best of what I had, and ate up the attention. Negative feedback didn’t hurt as much because it’s just words on a screen from unknown people. Really, you have nothing to lose.
On the show, Aarti has majorly influential people sitting right in front of her and judging everything she does, including the dishes she screws up. And something she wants a great deal is at stake. That is hugely different than throwing a bunch of things on an internet wall and seeing what sticks.
You mean spooge flower
I don’t think it takes the same level of confidence to feel comfortable on write on a blog as does to perform in front of a TV camera and critics.
She’s posted cooking videos online, Goober. That’s why her act feels contrived and irritating.
I think that they are harping on Aarti’s confidence issues because they’re trying to create some level of suspense for the finale, especially now that Brad’s gone… I mean, let’s be honest here, they’re not giving Herb or Aria a show. It’s going to be Aarti, or maybe Tom has a slight chance if Aarti completely melts down and he finishes really strong.
Actually, I was favorably impressed by her online cooking videos, in that it showed a bit more personality than we have seen on the show… she definitely seemed more relaxed, funnier, and more endearingly goofy.
I saw some of those as well–she was pretty watchable. I can’t hate on Aarti–at least not yet. We’ll see if (when) she wins and if her show is tolerable. She has a modulated voice and an agreeable onscreen presence, and a different “POV”, so that’s something. I had the misfortune of stumbling onto Melissa D’Arabian’s show (never had seen it after she won NFNS) and my ears almost bled–irritating presence, unbearable voice and cadences. Nearly as bad as Aaahhhrria.
Aarti’s modulated voice still switches between fairly American dialect and a stereotypical and artificial sounding “sweet British lass” inflection. Watching last week’s episode, I was ready to stuff a sock in her mouth if I had to hear talk about her “mum” one more time. This lady is just dripping treacle! How tolerable can that be?
I would say she has won but the day you guys say her name was on the foodnetwork all the current cast members names were listed hers was just first. While they are on the show they are a foodnetwork chef.
Perhaps you should read the entire thread of comments before you post. Your issue has been addressed about 30 times.
Who does she think she is – having a fan page…? The same question goes for: All the Eff’n Housewives, The douche bags of Jersey Shore, Ali from the Bachelor… to name a few. They all have fan pages – because people continue to make them celebrities… Stop the madness people and stop making STARS out of NO talent reality stars…!!! How much longer do we have to watch the dumbing down of America… seriously!!!
You know, I seem to have the opposite reaction than everyone else… Having read a bit through her blog and having watched a few of her videos, I’m actually really glad she’s winning now. She seems like a cool chick, and like she’s more of a culinary expert than most of the FN personalities. Hell, she might actually end up having the only cooking show other than Good Eats that’s worth watching.
Also (and I know many people would disagree with me here), I happen to find her quite hot… and that obviously helps.
THANK YOU!!! She’s really nice and down to earth. The reason she has a fan page is because she wants to limit her facebook FRIENDS just to that- people she knows IRL, friends and family. She emailed that to me when I friend requested her (I have this strange thing where I friend request my favorite chefs and then feel all “OOO- Adam Gertler’s my friend AND HE EMAILED ME!”…eh, it’s a harmless hobby, not like I’m stalking them or anything…)
So it’s not an ego thing, just a ‘keeping real life and pro life separate’ thing.
Are we ready for the next step in FN evolution? Instead of Iron Chef America, if Aarti wins, we can feature Giada and Aarti for starters, and have
BOOB CHEF AMERICA
Whose rack reigns supreme?
Aarti’s, by a LARGE margin.
My $$ is on Giada or one of the more mature FN ladies-I’m talking to you, Ina and Pauler.
There is one thing I don’t understand – Random Dude said “good luck with the finale.” What does that mean? Wouldn’t they have already filmed the finale?
I’m kind of with you on this one. While I agree that Aarti is a judge favorite I’m not sure why Random Dude on Facebook is being treated as a reliable source.
Unless of course Aarti invited him to the wrap paarti after shooting her pilot episode. :)
The latest FN spoiler failure… Aria won’t be winning (not that anybody thought she would). FN has been over hyping a new show named… wait for it… “Family Style”! The commercial shows a brother and sister who own a restaurant together. Sorry to hear you didn’t make it Aria. Better luck next time.
Maybe I’ll get lynched here, but I like Aarti. I don’t find her stupid or obnoxious and I would like to see her recipes.
I do too (see above). I think things have gotten really mean-spirited here. Too bad, because there are so many things on this blog that have made me laugh really hard because they are so clever and funny- Richard Scarry’s pig selling bacon- I never noticed! There is also some really awesome photoshop work on here. TONS of funny stuff that is thoughtful and intelligent.
I love snark and satire, but to pick apart every single person on every little thing is getting to be a bit much. (and some of it could be answered and dismissed with just a little research). It’s almost turned into bullying. These are real people with real feelings, and I know Aarti’s were hurt by this…(twitter feed)
There’s plenty of stuff to make fun of and satirize without stooping to simple name-calling. One of my absolute faves that makes me burst out EVERY TIME I SEE IT is the pic of Tuschelson saying, “Sorry, we don’t think you’ll sell a lot of knives.” *That* was a home run- thoughtful, funny, intelligent, slightly snarky, but not directed at anyone’s character.
But, the podcast is worse- you have said over and over that you’re not trying to be mean-spirited, but the personal attacks go way beyond comedy. Plus I don’t think you guys are foodies (not knowing what a pot de creme is and calling it a ‘chocolate cakey-brownie thing’. Um…no. There’s so much FOOD-related stuff on the FN to pick apart without constantly using the words ‘horrific’- get some food vocab. and some food authority- that would open up a whole new world of things to make fun of!
I tried posting all this on the iTunes podcast review, but for some reason it wouldn’t publish. You ladies are *so* smart and *so* funny (honestly), I’d hate to see you resort to cheap shots for laughs but to use your powers for good. This isn’t meant to be a personal attack- I don’t think you suck as a human or anything, and honestly, if I didn’t love the idea of this blog or think that this blog (and the podcast) had a TON of potential, I wouldn’t have spent the 20 minutes writing this out (twice, lol). Here’s hoping you guys will take this in the spirit it’s meant- an honest criticism
Besides, if the FN ceased to exist, where would this blog be then? ;-) Best of luck-
Best of luck to you too. Run along now.
Um…I didn’t know this…and tried not to find out…but thanks for posting in an obvious place and letting me know.. :(
Fuck her
Tom should’ve won.
