Buddy Valastro on Food Network Cake Challenge

Every time we turn around, Buddy Valastro is competing in another episode of Food Network’s Cake Challenge. In the past month alone, we’ve seen him making a faulty mechanical Santa cake, 2 amateurish wedding cakes, and a lackluster Disney villain cake. His final products, especially when compared to his competitors, always look like they were made by a 6 year old.
Bottom line: We think it’s time to pack up your fondant and go back home to Hoboken, Buddy. We’re tired of seeing you lose.

What is your problem. If you have ever seen the T.V show even you would agree the cakes are amazing. I would like to see you try and complete a great cake in 7 hrs. I dare you. But I think they still look great even for seven hrs

I am highly insulted by the previous comment, which can only undoubtedly be from a baker wannabee. I would love to know what this loser actually does for a living. Probably sleep all day and is on unemployment if lucky or most likely collecting disability as he is obviously mentally deficient. Buddy and his crew are two very highly skilled and hard working bakers who deserve nothing less than the utmost respect for their work. People wish they could be on TV and had a quarter of the courage to be on the food network, invovled in a live challenge. The problem is most people know it could NEVER happen for them. All can tell when someone is a jealous loser. GET A JOB!!!!!!!

I recently tuned in to the Food Network Cake Challenge for the first time and saw Buddy Valastro. I was surprised to see the man behind the cake that my family has loved for generations. No party would be complete without an Italian rum cake from Carlo’s Bakery and I am so glad you are continuing the tradition that was created by your father, grandfather, etc…
It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose a cake challenge, your cakes will still be #1 in Hoboken!
this is the real Buddy Valastro . who ever the supporter was i thank you for your kind words. who ever the others are i am proud of who i am and would never try to hide it. i may not be the best cake artist in the world and i do not know why they always call me back but they do. I have done alot of challanges and definetly got ripped off in a few and a few i definatly should not have one and i am man enough to admot that. As far as my attitude on tv that is exactly it it is tv that is probally why the supporter felt so strongly about what they wrote they probally know the real me and on tv it is not the real me. also people think it is easy to compete and it is not . agian i do not want to sound like a cry baby. well the reason for this reply is 2 things first off watch battle of the brides challange march 22 09 at 8 pm. and the second thing is your prayers have been ansewred i will not do any more challanges after battle of the brides i did one more and that is my last. the reason being is i have my own show on TLC called CAKEBOSS which will air april 19 09 . This show is more about who i really am and what i really do so i hope you all watch so mabey you will know what i am all about. It is like Kerry the make her out to be the biggest bitch and that is far from the truth they also make it out that me and her hate eachother and that is far from the truth. People it is just TV it is not real.

Michael, It is so nice that you responded to Buddy’s comments in such a positive way. Buddy works hard at being the best at his trade and he deserves our appreciation. It helps, too, that you know his work and know him personally. He should be proud to be related to you! Ignore all the comments about the capitalization and grammatical errors. People can just be mean. Buddy should not pay attention to them either! He’s great at what he does, and should be proud, and no one else compares!!

In my opinion, I think Buddy is here for a reason. He obviously has the talent to keep you watching, even if it’s only to have something to complain about. It is completely uncalled for to trash someone for trying to carry on his family traditions. Give the man the credit he deserves! Thank you Buddy for your inspiration and I hope to one day have the privilege of having you create a wedding cake for me even if it means driving from RI!
I LOVE “Cake Boss”! It’s not easy being in charge & trying to please others. I know. Been there, done it! My husband & I watch it whenever it’s on. I’m now trying my hand at decorating cakes. I’ll never be great but I’ll have fun trying. Love ya Buddy & Family

Dear you foodnetwork people.Maybe you should think before you are sooooo mean to buddy valastro.He,if you HAVEN’T NOTICED,now has a TV show called Cake Boss and is now getting over a hundred thousand veiws per week.Next time you talk SMACK about Buddy you should consider going to TLC and looking at the episodes.They have cakes better then anyone on Food Network or any of you people could ever make.

And if you actually watched more then one episode you would find that he sometimes has to do cakes himself in one hour because of how other people mess up. I am an Italian-American also. My parents moved to America from Italy. So, I am very well assure of how loud us Italians can be. There are many fights among my family also. Hey what can I say! I am very proud of Buddy for being on the Food Networks Challenge’s. His cakes are amazing! So, it doesn’t matter if he didn’t win them. He is an amazing cake artist. I would say he is one of the best. The bakery is obviously doing great seeing how it has been around since 1910 and it is now 2009. So people really need to learn to respect!

You can tell this is a wonderful family and Buddy has the biggest heart. Why would anybody get on here and put down someone who was trying so hard in the first place? He is the one with his own TV show now isn’t he. You show be respectful that this is a family business and he is trying to carry on his father’s legacy. Buddy if you do read this I hope you know we think you are wonderful and your first episode brought me to tears when you were talking about your dad. Cake Boss is comedy gold. In nearly every episode, either Buddy or somebody on his crew screws up so royally that it almost seems rigged for television! Cakes falling apart, somebody dropping a cake down the stairs, allowing a Bridezilla to destroy a cake, letting cannoli filling spoil, etc. Either Carlo’s Bakery is being run by the biggest group of boobs on the planet, or they have a great script writer with an eye for comedy.

I’m the wife of Heckspawn and I got to say that Buddy has the most phenomenal patience I’ve ever seen! He’s got the patience of a gradeschool teacher! The way you handled the bridezilla OMG! Bravo, you can’t be anything but a good person when you still make a second cake for someone like that.

I just wish they would have new chefs try out for these challenges. They seem to have the same people over and over again. It’s always that bald guy..and he wins 9 out of ten times! I guarantee you if they had on Ron Ben-Israel or Colette Peters on the show, either one of them would take home the prize more than a few times!

i have never watched buddy on food network challenge, but from what i DO watch on cake boss…buddy is AMAZING at making cakes. i’ve watched cake boss and ace of cakes one after another and i’ve come to the conclusion that charm city cakes has blind people working there. :)

I love his show, The drama the pranks they pull and how much they have fun doing the cakes its amazing they can make the hole thing work its,. it just goes to show at how much they work together and how much they care and love each other some people may say bad things but really can YOU make a cake like buddy and every one eles can? didnt think so if so then why dont you have your own show?….humm lets ponder for a moment why you dont… lol anyways my point is they are amazing they do amazing work and for buddy to keep them motivated and to keep things going the way things go it pretty crazy…and ofcours there is the rest of the people who help keep the downstairs and the people controlled its also amazing, i will always love cake boss not just buddy but everyone who is involved!!

Holy WOW! I’m shocked to read some of these comments. I really like Buddy and his show…at least from what I can tell on tv, he’s a nice guy. I agree that the show is slightly staged, but that’s ok. I’m just there to see the awesome cakes anyway.

First off, all you who critize Buddy should just be quiet. Can you make a cake like he does? When you can, then you can talk like that. But until, I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Buddy is amazing, no matter what you say. His cakes are spectacular, even the ones he does in the challenges for only 7-8 hours. And if you have ever been near his bakery, there is a line to even get in. It is out the door, up the street, everywhere. The place is packed. I guarentee you, that all you are just jealous because he is more talented then you and he has his own show. Oh, and Buddy has one a challenge before, FYI.

Buddy is a great guy, his cakes are AMAZING, and i bet their cakes couldn’t compare at all, like you said!!!! :D Yeah, his lines are like all the way to the next block!!! wow, I don’t understand how someone could say something like that about him!!!!!!!!!!
No question who is the superior cake artist. Valastro has probably forgotten more about cake or pastry making than Goldman will ever know. Valastro’s decorators make Charm City decorators look like beginners.
Aside , he runs a real bakery with heavy walk in traffic. He does a wholesale business as well.
His show on the other hand is pretty lame.
Why is it so hard to find the winner of the Cake Challenge
that took place on April 16, 2010? I can find the
Cake Challenge but it’s all about some cake loser
and his awful cakes.
I’m looking because my boss at work said the winning cake
was to die for. Please help me find it.

I like Buddy Valastro and am impressed with his ability to design and make fantastic cakes and other pastries. He is down to Earth and humbled by his ability to make others smile. Buddy’s designs are thoroughly thought out and put together by him and his team. My only complaint is I wish his shop were closer to where I live so my family and I could enjoy the scrumptious fruits of his labor!

Hello!!! okay, well i’m not sure if this is going to the person that wrote that comment about Buddy Valastro, but whoever it is going to, I would like to say something… Why would you say that about Buddy and his cakes? I don’t want to be mean or sound harsh but seriously, it’s really mean, and i don’t agree with it at all! That’s my opinion, but i would like to know why you feel that way? First, his cakes are AMAZING!!!! Made by a six year old??? His cakes look like they are worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars, which they are!!!!! Also, Buddy’s cakes are just as good as anybody else in the contest! Personally, I did not understand why he didn’t win! Second, it’s really not a good thing to say that stuff about him, considering how nice he is!!! He is a GREAT guy! We know him, he wouldn’t say anything like that about your cakes! Third, I know you probably didn’t mean this in the kind of way it sounds like, but saying ” pack up your fondant and go back to Hoboken ” can be very offensive to him, and also to me, considering I am from NJ!!! But I just wanted to state my opinion here, but i think Buddy is a great guy, and an EXTREMELY talented guy!!!! And whoever wrote that comment, I would like to know how YOUR cakes would look compared to Buddy’s!!!!!!

Wow, I am glad buddy wrote to us. I love you buddy I respect you greatly you are hard working and family oriented person, I’m sure your dad must be proud of you from above. People are just jealous of your success don’t take people comments to heart just do what you love doing best. I love watching your show its very impressive and entertaining, I always tune to your show on TLC and Food Network. A comment about Kerry Vincient, I feel she is a racist and doesnt seem to like other races. I find her personality to be very rude and ignorant. Shes not fair in decided who the winner is. i love cake boss and he’s amazing at what he does. he’s also a nice guy and loves his family so much. a pleasure to watch and id love for him to make me a cake anytime.

ok if buddy is so bad then why does he have his own tv show and you don’t? buddy is amazing just watch his teqnique with the drop-lines in wedding cakes they are BEAUTIFUL! buddy is my idol and nothing will change! he is THE BOSS!and i went to his bakery and he is such a great guy even if i didnt meet him he has pictures of his family EVERYWHERE! and he did that make a wish charity he is amazing and if you can tell him stuff on here then go tell it to his face after you watch him make one of his fabulous cakes and on other cake shows im like this is oviously not as good as buddy because they make amatuer mistakes. You can all curl up in a hole and cry! Buddy is my idol and is amazing. If he “sucks so bad” then why is he now known as the Cake Boss?! I have seen him make a cake BLINDFOLDED and do better than any of you can do after years of culinary school! Do any of you even watch any cake shows? Buddy has so much more heart than any other baker out there! I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE BUDDY!!!!

I love Buddy’s show as much as the next fan and was shocked when this came up. I can’t believe the nerve of these people! So many haters, it’s unbelievable! Buddy himself came on here and was totaly honest, and people were commenting on his grammer. Don’t listen to this stuff Buddy, you’re awesome and all your fans know it.

Who could knock Buddy’s talent! And he is more than talent, he’s also heart! While other cake designers are in it for MONEY MONEY MONEY he is doing it to build his FATHERS name, help people and give something back to his hometown!!! I think those who bad mouth him are just jealous!!!
